Periodontal therapy

Good oral hygiene is vital to the success of your implant treatment. We will request that you attend a review appointment approximately 1 year after completion of your implant treatment to assess the health and integration of your implant(s).

Further yearly maintenance appointments will be sent to you to ensure the conditions of our guarantees are met. At Care Dental Implant Clinic, the hygienist plays an active part in your overall oral health care to ensure this.

The role of the hygienist is to ensure that you understand the importance of your periodontal health in relation to the long-term success of your treatment before it begins. As part of this, a Periodontal Examination is often necessary to remove any plaque and tartar, to chart any problem areas and to design an ongoing maintenance plan, which will help you care for your implants once they have been placed.

If you are being referred from another practice this care can be carried out by your own practice’s hygienist, under guidance from the Implant Clinic.
